Changing Your Website Domain

Whether you're rebranding, updating your business focus, or simply prefer a new web address, changing your website domain can be an important step. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of requesting a domain change and ensuring everything goes off without a hitch. Let’s get started on giving your site a fresh new face!

How Do I Change My Domain Name?

You will need our support team's assistance with updating your domain name. This process involves a few steps, where our team will prepare elements, then you'll make changes with your domain provider, and finally we will update your website.

1. Purchase the New Domain

The first step is to acquire the domain name you want.  If you haven’t purchased it yet, take a look at our Purchasing a Domain guide to help you with the process.

2. Submit a Domain Change Request

Once you own the new domain, contact the InCom Support team to assist with the domain change.
Simply send an email to support@incomrealestate.com with your request, or submit a request here. Below is a template you can use:

My current domain is [current domain], and I would like to switch it to [new domain].

Once we receive your request our team will prepare for the transfer. After that is done , we will contact you with instructions to update your nameservers. 

Warning
Do not update your nameservers before you have heard from support as this will lead to a page not found message appear at the domain.

After we indicate we're ready for the nameserver change, you will update your DNS records and then let us know immediately that it has been done. We're more than happy to help with this step during a call! You can reach us at 1-866-883-8951, and selection option 4 to reach support.
