How to Restrict your Google API Key.
InCom uses Google Maps for many functions on our websites.
Google recommends that you restrict your API key so it can only be used on your website. This adds an extra layer of security to prevent unauthorized use of your key.
To restrict your key:
1. Log in to your Google Cloud Account
- Go to https://console.cloud.google.com/, then click the navigation menu in the top left corner.
- Select APIs & Services > Credentials.
2. Edit The API Key
Click the Actions button (the three dots next to “Show Key”) and select Edit API Key.
3. Apply Restrictions
- Under Application Restrictions, select Websites.
- Then, under Website Restrictions, enter your website domain.
- Scroll down and click Save.
4. Visit your website to ensure the maps are working as expected.
