Adding Google Analytics to Your Website

Adding Google Analytics to Your Website

Google Analytics is a powerful tool that helps you monitor and understand how visitors interact with your website. By adding a Google Analytics tracker, you’ll be able to track essential data such as user behavior, traffic sources, and website performance. Follow the steps below to set up Google Analytics and add it to your website.

1. Sign In or Create a Google Account

Visit Google Analytics and log in using your Google account. If you don’t have one, you’ll be prompted to create it first.

2. Start Measuring

Click “Start Measuring” to begin setting up your Analytics account.

  1. Account Name: Enter a name for your account — we recommend using a name related to your real estate brand.

  2. Choose what data you’d like to share with Google, then click Next.

3. Create a Property

  1. Enter your Property Name (e.g., “MyWebsite.com”).

  2. Select your reporting time zone and preferred currency.

  3. Click Next and fill in your business information to help tailor your Analytics experience.

4. Accept Terms and Create Property

Review and accept Google’s Terms of Service to activate your account and property.

5. Set Up a Data Stream

  1. Choose Web (for website tracking).

  2. Enter your website URL and give your data stream a name.

  3. Optionally, enable Enhanced Measurement (recommended) to automatically collect additional data like page views and scrolls.

  4. Click Create Stream.

6. Install Google Analytics Tracking Code

  1. In the Data Stream setup screen, under Installation Instructions, click Install Manually.

  2. Copy the Global Site Tag (tracking code) provided.

7. Add the Code to Your InCom Website

  1. Log in to your InCom Website Dashboard.

  2. Go to Visitors > Visitor Traffic.

  3. Paste the copied code under Header Tags.

  4. Click Submit to save your changes.

Done! Your Google Analytics tracking code is now active, and you can begin collecting valuable data about your website visitors. You should start seeing data within 24–48 hours after the code has been installed.
